Registry Eligibility
Students that enter the program under prerequisite #1 or #2 are eligible to apply for a registry from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing, International (CCI). For the ARDMS they are not eligible until they graduate. If they meet certain requirements, then it is possible for them to take the CCI RVS exam PRIOR to graduation.
Students that enter the program under prerequisite #3, they must take and pass the CCI RVS registry before they can take the ARDMS registry. Once they take and pass the CCI RVS registry then they meet the ARDMS requirements under the ARDMS prerequisite #5. If they meet certain requirements, then it is possible for them to take the CCI RVS exam PRIOR to graduation.
Once a student completes the program’s required vascular classes, vascular hours and vascular proficiencies then they can make application for the vascular specialty registry (RVS) that is offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing, International (CCI). It is possible to meet these requirements PRIOR to graduating from the program. CCI will not release your credentials until you graduate.
All student’s can also take the physics registry from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography while in the program. This can be done after you complete the sonography physics class with a grade of a C or better.
Both of these options are great benefits for the students.
